Introduction

 

Plant availability is greatly influenced by the extended reliable performance of mechanical shaft seals. Reduction of the maintenance effort depends on the understanding of the operating and maintenance requirements of these components. Correct selection and application as well as maintenance affect greatly cost optimisation, plant availability, personnel and equipment safety as well as environmental issues. The different types of mechanical shaft seals, their applications and failure modes are carefully examined.

 

The course is also designed to primarily and specifically enhance Operations and to give confidence to personnel involved in Mechanical and Dry Gas Seals Maintenance and Trouble Shooting capabilities. This course includes a step by step guide to the Seals Function, Fitting and Replacement decision. It is a Theory course which has many graphics and pictorials to help the participant in their understanding during training and when they need to apply in their work schedules.
